A
college sports career can be combined with
a course of study to help identify the type
of career a student athlete pursues. The
rigors and accomplishments accompanying a
college athletic career can assist in identifying
and landing in an appropriate post-graduate
career whether it is pursuing advanced sports
involvement or a lifelong career matching
the passion and abilities of the student
athlete. ADI Career Counselors use both ADI
exclusive and industry standard instruments
to help the student athlete determine motivations,
abilities and capabilities that can be matched
to responsibilities of a wide range of careers.
A varsity career can demonstrate to a potential
employer that the student athlete is focused
on accomplishing tasks, organized in managing
time, committed to excellence in performance,
a willing team player and capable of handling
multiple tasks successfully. ADI Career Counselors
provide the planning, direction, motivation
and mentoring required to determine interests,
explore potential career paths and guide
the student athlete to direct their own future.
Industry research indicates that 80% of
the working population is either mismatched
with the job that they are doing or unhappy
in their current job. It is the mission of
the ADI Career Counseling program to provide
the instruments, counseling, planning and
support to help guide student athletes to
the 20% of working adults who enjoy their
work position. |
