Injuries
are an inevitable part of sports. Most
people assume that contact sports are the most
dangerous but this isn’t always the case. Research
shows that the vast majority of injuries occur
without any contact. This means that athletes
in any sport need to make an active effort to
prevent injury.
An overuse injury is caused by repetition of the same movement or improper form
when performing the skill. Traumatic injuries result from a single incident. The
trigger may be a collision in contact sports our just a movement that that goes
beyond the capacity of the muscles, joints and bones.
Injuries of all varieties can be diminished or avoided through a strength development
program that makes the muscles and joints stronger and more durable. Many
injuries occur when the body is fatigued so improving the physical capacity of
the body will allow the athlete to stay stronger and less fatigued over a longer
period of time.
ADI offers programs that are designed to prevent injury. Strength and speed
workouts can help to reduce an athlete’s risk when complete correctly. We
also offer programs to help you rehabilitate an injury after clearance of doctors
and physical therapists. We coordinate our training with the wishes of
your doctors so that we can get you back into game shape as soon as possible |
