The
greatest obstacle we face in our pursuit of excellence
is the psychological barrier that we impose on
ourselves. Talent is
an innate gift and defines the outer limits of
ability. Skills, on
the other hand are acquired through hard work,
repetition, and practice. Reaching peak performance
requires an athlete to exceed talent and skill
with a highly trained mental approach to sports.
Each one of us has the ability to experience our
full potential in the face of competitive stress
by developing a focus and concentration in practice
as well as in competitive situations. ADI
offers both group and private sports psychology
sessions by top professionals that are designed
to empower the individual student athlete. Student
athletes will learn how to master the pressure
of competition, improve concentration, rebound
from setbacks and how to deal mentally with physical
injuries.
Dr. Dave regularly presents lectures, small group
programs, and individualized mental skills training
to student athletes, parents, and coaches at ADI.
